The Reference 5110 and 5130 World Timers are immensely popular amongst collectors. The 5110 with its mesmerising guilloché dial and the 5130 with the wonderful sunburst center. Patek Philippe have now included a moonphase with the 5575 that has made it a truly special piece.
Double rotating discs for the moonphase
With this new watch also comes a new movement, the Caliber 240 HU LU. With a maximum daily deviation between -3 and +2 seconds which well surpasses COSC standards, the new caliber is relatively thin. A push button much like the previous World Timers adjusts the city ring and time by 1 hour. However in this special World Time, you’ll also find a small corrector button at the 2 o’clock mark that manages the moonphase. Furthermore you’ll also notice that the hands deviate from the traditional “scissor” style hands and comes with a star shaped hour hand. This is a very nice touch.

Limited to 1300 pieces, the 5575G (18 ct white gold) will be available for 46,000 Swiss Francs. We have no doubt these will be hard to come by and much sought after. It almost makes our 5130 feel a little inferior to this new release.
Stay tuned for other 175th annivesary pieces from Patek Philippe.
